About Us
Resilient Energy Forest of Dean Ltd (REFD), was created in 2015 under the name of Resilient Energy Alvington Court Renewables Ltd and successfully issued a public share offer to raise funds to develop & operate a Powerwind 500kW community-owned wind turbine. The turbine is situated at Alvington Court, south of Lydney, Glos.
REFD is a community benefit society registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, registration number 7082.
In 2019, REFD acquired a second Powerwind 500kW wind turbine from Resilient Energy Great Dunkilns (REGD).
REGD was founded in 2012 and developed its 500kW community-owned wind turbine near St Briavels, Forest of Dean. The project was crowd-funded through the Abundance platform, which gave ordinary people the opportunity to invest in the project.
REFD currently has 282 members.
